A two-day Nomadic festival was celebrated on 20 & 21 August, 2022 at Chibra Kargyam, Changthang, Ladakh. The key highlights of the festival were the organization of a nomadic bazaar displaying handicraft and handloom products, nomadic tents, nomadic cuisine, archery, and horse racing competition, a session on traditional marriage ceremonies, and agricultural practices, and cultural performances by the nomadic community.
The festival fosters the sentiment of community engagement and participation among the nomadic people. It provides a platform through which the rich cultural heritage of the nomadic community of Ladakh can be preserved for posterity. |
